PVO organizes and empowers families with the highest need to build effective campaigns toward economic and educational justice. From their Leadership Academies, which provide parents with an opportunity to gain community organizing and advocacy skills while learning from each other in a supportive environment, to their advocacy to win more funding to keep child care businesses open in Alameda County and to increase capacity at East Oakland Head Start sites, PVO continues to show up for Oakland’s families. PVO's commitment to “growing a beautiful and powerful political home for impacted parents, families, and caregivers” contributes to creating an early childhood ecosystem in Oakland where all children, families and early educators flourish. |
