Returning to the classroom and child care has been challenging for children, families, and early learning professionals. At this workshop, Oakland early learning professionals learned tips on how to use books to support the development of social-emotional skills.

- Choosing appropriate books for infants, toddlers and preschoolers that teach social-emotional skills.
- Incorporating the social emotional skills promoted in children’s books into classroom management.
- Promoting reading comprehension and engagement during book read alouds.
