Annette Wright, Oakland Unified School District
"Teachers need other teachers. This is not a job that can be done alone. Collaboration and friendship are vital in keeping teachers informed and happy."
Annette Wright, Pre-K Teacher for Oakland Unified School District, co-hosts "Let's Talk Early Learning" as part of the Early Learning Symposium. These informal, online sessions provide a safe space for Early Childhood Education professionals to share and learn from each other. Along with colleagues Nini Humphrey and Jacquetta Wallace, Annette facilitates conversations ranging from racial bias in the classroom to the social-emotional needs of children during the pandemic.
In the Let's Talk session about COVID-19 safety, hosted by Annette, Nini, and Jacquetta and presented in partnership with the UCSF Center for Child and Community Health, over 150 attendees received vaccine information from UCSF physicians and staff.
Annette was first featured in the Oakland Starting Smart & Strong 2021 Year In Review.
