Improving Early Learning Outcomes for Boys of Color: 10 Promising Practices
This training introduces early childhood educators to equity-based strategies and promising practices that support our youngest Boys of Color to thrive. Participants will learn how structural racism, unconscious bias and inequitable policies and practices are preventing Boys of Color from experiencing attuned, responsive relationships, safe and predictable environments and the conditions that support them to learn to their full potential.
Educators will learn evidence-based reflective processes and instructional practices they can implement right away to strengthen self-awareness, disrupt reactivity and biases and create strength-based environments that are responsive to the brilliance, interests, and promise of our diverse Boys of Color. Participants will also learn about approaches to family and community engagement that highlight the value and contribution of Boys of Color and their families in early learning settings.
