OSSSI TASK FORCE MEETING
January 26, 2017 — Over 60 participants attended the OSSSI Task Force meeting on January 26, 2017, to learn more about two family survey studies conducted in Oakland.
Dr. Marc Hernandez from NORC/University of Chicago, along with Susan True from the Rainin Foundation, provided an update on their analysis of over 400 household interviews with families of young children conducted in Oakland.
Clarissa Doutherd from Parent Voices Oakland and Laura Pryor, a doctoral candidate from the UC Berkeley School of Education, presented findings and recommendations from their parent-led research project focused on families accessing informal care in underserved neighborhoods in Oakland.
The Task Force provided an opportunity for community members and early childhood stakeholders to come together to discuss the strengths, needs and experiences of families with young children in Oakland.
