We mourn the deaths of George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, Ahmaud Arbery, Erik Salgado, and far too many others who have lost their lives to a racist system and society. We recognize the devastating disproportionate impact of Covid-19 on Black and Brown communities.

Our vision at OSSS is to develop an early childhood system where all Oakland children and families have full and equal access to opportunities to realize their full potential. Every day, we strive to focus resources and systems-building efforts towards children and families most impacted by social and economic inequity. Within the OSSS collaborative, we live our commitment to racial equity by:

We join the local, national, and global Black Lives Matter movement and look forward to supporting each other to further racial and economic justice for our communities.
